A PRIMARY-SCHOOL TEST FOR YOU

Filed under: Smilez — Tags: — illakiyaa @ 11:35 am

Which way is the bus below travelling?

To the left or to the right?

Can’t make up your mind?

Look carefully at the picture again.

Still don’t know?

Primary school children all over the UK were shown this picture and asked the same question.

90% of them gave this answer:

‘The bus is travelling to the right.’

When asked, ‘Why do you think the bus is travelling to the right?’

They answered:

‘Because you can’t see the door to get on the bus.’

How hot is it in Hell ?

(Maybe a true story…???)

A thermodynamics professor had written a take home exam for his graduate

students. It had one question:

“Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Support your answer with a proof.”

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law (gas cools off when it expands and heats up when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So, we need to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all people and all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle’s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities.

#1 If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

#2 Of course, if Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

\

So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Ms. Therese Banyan during my Freshman year, “That it will be a cold night in Hell before I sleep with you,” and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then #2 cannot be true, and so Hell is exothermic.

The student got the only A.

THE DIARY

WIFE’s DIARY

Sunday night - I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet
at a cafe to have some coffee. I was shopping with my friends all day
long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but
he made no comment.

Conversation wasn’t flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet
so we could talk, he agreed but he kept quiet and absent.
I asked him what was wrong - he said, “Nothing.” I asked him if it was
my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me
and not to worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply
smiled and kept driving. I can’t explain his behavior; I don’t know why he
didn’t say, “I love u, too.” When we got home I felt as if I had lost
him, as if he anted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there
and watched TV; he seemed distant and absent.

Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he
came to bed. I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided
to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep. I started
crying and cried until I too fell asleep. I don’t know what to do.
I’m almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.

My life is a disaster.

Lawyers…

  • Lawyer: “Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?”
  • Witness: “No.”
  • Lawyer: “Did you check for blood pressure?”
  • Witness: “No.”
  • Lawyer: “Did you check for breathing?”
  • Witness: “No.”
  • Lawyer: “So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?”
  • Witness: “No.”
  • Lawyer: “How can you be so sure, Doctor?”
  • Witness: “Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.”
  • Lawyer: “But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?”
  • Witness: “Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere.”

  • Lawyer: “Do you know how far pregnant you are now?”
  • Witness: “I’ll be three months on November 8.”
  • Lawyer: “Apparently, then, the date of conception was August 8?”
  • Witness: “Yes.”
  • Lawyer: “What were you doing at that time?”

  • Lawyer: “What is your brother-in-law’s name?”
  • Witness: “Borofkin.”
  • Lawyer: “What’s his first name?”
  • Witness: “I can’t remember.”
  • Lawyer: “He’s been your brother-in-law for years, and you can’t remember his first name?”
  • Witness: “No. I tell you, I’m too excited.” (rising and pointing to his brother-in-law) “Nathan, for heaven’s sake, tell them your first name!”

The rest of them are in this website.

And I think the first one is damn funny.. :)..

Anyways I know I have been missing in action for some days. Its not that I was very busy or anything, even though I had to go to school for meetings and stuff. I just didnt have the mood to write anything. Or actually I dont have anything to write on about. But now I have something I want to share.

Yesterday I was seeing this show on Nickelodeon. Its something about students and teachers. How students always say that Teachers dont understand them. And teachers in turn asked whether they students understood them. I mean everything in this world is two way right. So if the students complain so can the teachers. And also interestingly, one of the teacher’s who was interviewed said that homework is not useful. He said that kids should enjoy their life and not study at school and at home too. This is true. and ya a ‘But’ is coming along…Even though i would love to follow his idea, i feel that it may not be practical. School time is not enough to recap everytime that they learnt. And I am not saying that students must study the whole time at home. Just an hour or two should be ok. Then they can play and enjoy.

Now that, that is said. The emcee said something when ending the program. There are 3 kinds of teachers. One who can teach naturally. One who cant teach. And one who can teach, but its not in them. The one who can be natural teachers inspire. The one who can teach even though its not in them, explain. And the one who cant teach, say. I think this is very true. And to see such inspiring teachers is very rare nowadays. I am trying to be one. But I Havent reached even a quarter way to what I really want to be. But with time I would I guess.

And another thing I was thinking about. You know there are times, when you just want to be left alone. Even though you have ur frens, parents and other people around you. Even though you arent angry with them or anything. Its just that feeling that you want to spent some time with yourself only. I want that time. I want to be away from everyone and think. I realised that I am always surrounded by people. I dont have individual time I had before. Anyways I think I will end of here.
